Complete guide to transferring your domains to Flexiscale for better management and pricing
Before You Start
Important Prerequisites
- Domain must be registered for at least 60 days
- Domain must not have been transferred in the last 60 days
- Domain must not be in a locked or suspended state
- You must have access to the administrative email address
- Domain should have at least 30 days until expiration
What You'll Need
- Authorization Code (EPP Code): Required for transfers
- Admin Contact Access: To approve transfer requests
- Domain Unlock: Remove registrar lock if enabled
- Current Registration Details: For verification purposes
- Backup DNS Records: Recommended before transfer
Transfer Timeline
- • Immediate: Transfer request initiated
- • Within 1 hour: Confirmation emails sent
- • Within 5 days: Current registrar response period
- • Completion: Usually within 24-48 hours after approval
Step 1: Prepare Your Domain
Unlock Your Domain
Most domains are locked by default to prevent unauthorized transfers. You'll need to unlock your domain at your current registrar:
- Log in to your current registrar's control panel
- Navigate to domain management or domain settings
- Find "Registrar Lock" or "Transfer Lock" setting
- Disable the lock (may require email confirmation)
- Verify the lock status shows as "Unlocked"
Obtain Authorization Code
The authorization code (also called EPP code or transfer code) is required for the transfer:

Backup DNS Records
Recommended: Document Current Settings
Before transferring, record your current DNS configuration:
- A records (website hosting)

- TXT records (verification, SPF, DKIM)
- Nameserver settings
Step 2: Initiate Transfer at Flexiscale
Transfer Process
- Login to Flexiscale: Access your dashboard
- Navigate to Transfers: Find "Transfer Domain" option
- Enter Domain Name: Input the domain you want to transfer
- Enter Auth Code: Provide the authorization code
- Verify Contact Details: Confirm or update registrant information
- Review and Pay: Complete the transfer order

What Happens Next
After submitting your transfer request:
- You'll receive a confirmation email from Flexiscale
- Your current registrar will be notified of the transfer request
- You may receive emails asking to confirm or deny the transfer
- The domain will enter a transfer pending state
- Transfer completion notification will be sent
Step 3: Transfer Approval Process
Email Confirmations
During the transfer process, you'll receive several important emails:
From Flexiscale (Gaining Registrar)
Confirmation that transfer request has been initiated. No action required.
From Current Registrar (Losing Registrar)
Transfer authorization request. You may need to approve or can choose not to respond.
Transfer Completion
Final confirmation when domain is successfully transferred to Flexiscale.
Response Options
Approve Transfer
Click the approval link in the email to speed up the transfer process.
No Response
Transfer will automatically proceed after 5 days if no response is received.
⚠️ Transfer Denial
If you or your current registrar denies the transfer:
- Transfer will be cancelled immediately
- Domain remains with current registrar
- You can restart the process after resolving issues
- Refund will be processed within 3-5 business days
Step 4: Post-Transfer Setup
Verify Transfer Completion
Once the transfer is complete, verify everything is working correctly:
- Domain appears in your Flexiscale dashboard
- WHOIS information shows Flexiscale as registrar
- Website continues to load normally
- Email delivery is functioning
- All subdomains are working
Configure DNS Settings
Your DNS settings may need to be reconfigured after transfer:

- External DNS: Continue using your current DNS provider
- Hybrid Setup: Use Flexiscale nameservers with external DNS records
Set Up Auto-Renewal
Protect your domain from accidental expiration:
- Navigate to Domain Management in your dashboard
- Select the transferred domain
- Enable auto-renewal feature
- Configure renewal notifications
- Verify payment method is on file
